Nitrile Gloves for Laboratories
PharmShield nitrile gloves for laboratories are powder-free, latex-free synthetic gloves built for the bench reality of analytical, diagnostic and R&D work — handling reagents, solvents, samples and instruments where a torn or shedding glove means a ruined result or a skin exposure. Every glove is made to AQL 0.65, double-chlorinated for clean donning, low in particulates and ionic extractables, and EN 374 Type B tested for splash and incidental contact with the chemistry a lab actually uses. Sterile, individually packed grades are available for sample-critical and cleanroom benches. If you're a lab manager or procurement lead matching a glove to a protocol, this is the starting point.
Nitrile · LaboratoriesWhy laboratories need specialty nitrile gloves
A lab glove is a barrier and a sampling tool at once — it has to block the chemistry, survive the handling, and not contaminate the very sample it touches. General-purpose gloves fail on at least one of those. Laboratory-grade nitrile is engineered against four concerns.
Chemical splash protection
Benches handle acids, bases, fixatives and organic solvents at sample scale. PharmShield nitrile is EN 374 Type B tested, giving documented splash and incidental-contact protection against a defined chemical panel — matched to a breakthrough time, not marketed as immersion protection.
Low extractables & contamination control
Trace ions, powder and particulates shed from a glove can skew a sensitive assay or contaminate a culture. Double-chlorinated, powder-free PharmShield nitrile is processed for low ionic extractables and low particulate shedding, protecting your blanks and your results.
Puncture & tactile reliability
Pipette tips, vial necks, scalpels and glassware — labs are full of sharps. Nitrile's puncture resistance outperforms latex, while micro-textured fingertips keep the dexterity needed for fine handling and small-volume work.
Sterile & cleanroom-ready options
For tissue culture, microbiology and cleanroom benches, individually packed ETO and gamma sterile grades validated to SAL 10⁻⁶ stop the glove from becoming the contamination source.

PharmShield nitrile is EN 374 Type B tested for splash and incidental contact with a defined panel of laboratory chemicals — acids, bases and many solvents. That covers the majority of bench work. For prolonged or immersion contact with aggressive solvents, match the glove to a published breakthrough time, or step up to a dedicated EN 374 chemical-resistant glove.
Nitrile is latex-free, so it removes Type I protein-allergy risk for staff and samples, and it offers better puncture and chemical resistance than natural rubber latex. Latex still wins on raw tactile feel; where dexterity is the priority and allergy is managed, our latex range is the alternative.
Yes. Individually packed ETO and gamma sterile grades are validated to a Sterility Assurance Level of 10⁻⁶, and vacuum-packed Pro grades are built for low-particulate transfer into cleanroom benches — keeping the glove from contaminating sensitive cultures or assays.
